Celebrity makeup artist Monika Blunder worked with Nina Dobrev for the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards.

“Nina was wearing a nude Calvin Klein dress, so I wanted to add a pop of color with her makeup. I decided to go with a burgundy lip paired with a really well blended taupe eye.”

GET THE LOOK:

“I started by applying Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation in shade 255 all over the face, using a foundation brush to applying in the center of the face, then blending outward using a Beauty Blender. To brighten her under eye area, I applied MAC Select Moisturecover in NW20 in the socket of her under eye area.

I filled in the brows using Anastasia Brow Wiz in Chocolate to give her more defined, fuller arches.

Using the Golden Goddess Palette by Charlotte Tilbury, I applied the Smoke Shade with a MAC 217 brush, washing the color backwards and forward along the socket. I also applied a little on the outer corners to create a reverse V. I applied the Enhance shade along the brow bone to give her a highlight, then, using the Dolce Vita palette, I applied the Pop shade on the lid under her socket with using a MAC 239 Brush. Taking a thin brush, I applied the Smoke shade of the Golden Goddess Palette lightly along her upper lash line, like eyeliner. I curled her lashes using Kevyn Aucoin Lash Curler, then applied three coats of the Dior Addict It-Lash. I also used a few Ardell Individual Lashes on the outer corners of her eyes.

To warm up her complexion, I applied MAC Golden Refined Bronzer using a fluffy bronzing brush along her cheekbones in a circular motion, then lightly brushed along her jaw line, temples and forehead.  On the apples of her cheeks, I applied Kevyn Aucoin Blush in Ariana, and for a little bit of highlight, I used the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, mixing Incandescent and Radiant light and applying on the upper cheekbone and dusting underneath the eyes.

On her lips, I started by applying Tom Ford Bruised Plum Lipstick straight from the bullet, and to clean up the edges and define the lip shape, I used the Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Vamp.”
