“First I prepped her clean damp hair with Sachajuan Styling Mousse from roots to ends. Followed that by taking two inch partings and spraying Sachajuan Ocean Mist at the roots for maximum volume and bounce.
Finally smoothed a quarter sized about of the Sachajuan Styling Cream from the mineshaft to the ends for some light hold. I then blew her hair dry using a medium sized round boar bristle brush.
Next I took random sections and wrapped them about a 2inch Barrel Curling Iron to add some texture and bend.
After I did the entire head that way, I then pulled the nape of her hair into a low pony. I gathered the rest of the hair and made a second pony right in top of that. Finally, I wrapped the two pony tails together and made a messy knot to hide the two ponytail holders.
Lastly I finished with Living Proof Medium hold hairspray to seal in the style.”

TORI KELLY’S LOOK: A modern interpretation of old Hollywood style
INSPIRATION: Celebrity hairstylist Nikki Providence was inspired by Tori Kelly’s one shoulder green dress. “I wanted to let her natural texture shine through a classic pincurl set,” she said.
How To Get The Look:
Nikki started with clean wet hair, and prepped the roots with John Frieda Frizz Ease® Curl Reviver Mousse and sprayed 12 sprays of the John Frieda Frizz Ease® Go Curlier™ Heat-Activated Spray throughout the hair. Then she used a wide-tooth comb to shape the front and sides into sculpted waves, clipping each section into position. She twisted the remainder of the hair in 2-inch sections and dried her with a diffuser before taking the clips out. Nikki used her hands to smooth and sculpt the final shape, applying a thin coat of John Frieda Frizz Ease® Secret Weapon® Touch-Up Crème on her hands to make sure her fingers glided over the hair for a final touch of smoothness. Then she used a 3/4 inch curling iron to touch up any areas that needed extra hold or curl. She finished off the look with John Frieda Frizz Ease® KeraFLEX™ Flexible Hold Hairspray.

Celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora worked with Jessica Chastain to create a new look during the Toronto International Film Festival.
“This was pretty spontaneous. We had no plans to do a cut in Toronto, and then I saw her the night before her premiere of The Martian, and we decided to try something new. I was really inspired by Faye Dunaway’s classic bob. It has that playful, undone look and falls really nicely however it’s styled.”
CUTTING & STYLING:
“We only cut a couple of inches off, which still gave her a completely new look. You’ll notice that the front and back have some uneven pieces. We didn’t want it to be so perfect that she would be limited to wearing it any particular way. So, I did the cut from start to finish with a razor, no scissors. Using a razor gives the cut some volume and texture, and adds more dimension to the layers. It’s very short at the nape of the neck, which also adds some volume to the back.
This look is a little more playful and undone than polished, which is what we did for the Ralph Lauren show. I think it looks beautiful both ways! And I really wanted to give her a style and length that frames her gorgeous face, but also make sure she could easily maintain and play around with it when she’s off duty.”
Katy Perry wowed the audience at the Super Bowl XLIX with a perfect perky pony during her halftime performance. Celebrity stylist, Clyde Haygood, said the inspiration for the look was that “Katy specifically asked for the perkiest pony you’ve ever seen!” Clyde created the pony with extra bounce so it went with the choreography and allowed Katy to helicopter it around while performing with Lenny Kravitz.
The ponytail was constructed using a human hair Velcro pony with hair in various lengths sewn onto the inside and outside for added volume. With the added weight, in ordered to create a comfortable support system, Clyde sewed an elastic band to the base on the inside of the pony and put a toggle closure to make the ponytail retractable and actually open and close around Katy’s own hair.
To set the ponytail, first Clyde took five 3-inch sections and curled them with a 2-inch iron to create an “S” wave. Each section was sprayed with KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 styling + finishing spray ($20.99) before curling. Clyde used this spray because it’s heat activated and perfect to use with irons for setting dry hair. It also brushed out beautifully giving him the bounce he wanted for the performance.
Next, Clyde worked on slicking Katy’s own hair back with his “go-to” gel product, KMS California HAIRSTAY styling gel ($16.50). This gel has impeccable hold and gave Clyde the glass-like shine he wanted for Katy’s hair.
Once the ponytail was attached Clyde took a small amount of KMS California HAIRPLAY gel wax ($19.75) into the palm of his hands then top-coated Katy’s pony to tame any flyaways and give added support to the style. Clyde likes this product because it has the hold of a gel, yet has flexibility and lets hair move naturally.

Celebrity hairstylist Christine Symonds worked with Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, January 25th in Los Angeles, CA. See below for details on Kaley’s effortless look.
“We decided on a clean and simple look for Kaley tonight.”
GET THE LOOK:
“I prepped her hair with Oribe Grandiose Mousse and blow dried it forward using my Eco Tools Quick Volume Styler. I kept a strong side part and directed the bangs off to one side.
I sprayed Batiste Dry Shampoo in the roots to keep the hair in place and to add a little lift. I finished with a vail of Oribe Superfine Hairspray.”
Sarah Hyland’s up-do at the 2015 SAG Awards was created by celebrity hairstylist, Ryan Richman, who used KMS California products to create the edgy bun.
Here are Ryan’s tips on how to copy Sarah’s hairstyle.
1. Prep wet hair with KMS California FREESHAPE quick blow dry spray ($20.99) to lightly condition the hair and reduce drying time.
2. Apply a few pumps of KMS California TAMEFRIZZ smoothing lotion ($18.50) to smooth the cuticle and reduce frizz while drying.
3. Use a comb to distribute the product throughout the hair and set a deep side part.
4. Blow dry 1″ sections using a flat boar bristle brush while pointing the nozzle of the blow dryer downward towards the ends of the hair.
5. When the hair is dry, smooth small sections of hair with a straightening iron.
6. On the side of the part with less hair, use a brush to create a high ponytail and secure this section with an elastic.
7. Spray KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 styling + finishing spray ($20.99) as you brush in order to keep the section smooth and secure.
8. Repeat these steps with the remaining hair and secure it in a low ponytail.
9. Wave and twist the two ponytails together and begin to pin the look down to the back of head using bobby pins.
10. Finish the look with KMS California FREESHAPE 2-in-1 styling + finishing spray ($20.99).
